Tejumola Adenuga - Future, Past Exhibition

  Tejumola Adenuga, A Ceremony Within Art Twenty-One presents Future, Past , a solo exhibition of the body of work by London-based Nigerian fine artist Tejumola Adenuga (b. 1994).  The exhibition opening kicks off on April 19, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will run until June 14, 2024, in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. A private view will be held on April 18, 2024, from 6 to 9 p.m. Tejumola Adenuga is a multidisciplinary artist and designer whose practice focuses on the intentional removal of informational excess from found photography through a subtle, minimalistic approach. His recent works fixate on the significance and celebration of black faces and bodies, attending to the absence of black representation in the western historical narrative. Adenuga’s color blindness led him to celebrate the use of black and white and focus on contours rather than shades, which in part distinguished his portraits.
